Ozone: A Founder’s Tale of Grind, and Growth

If someone had told me in 1991 that one day, people would read about my journey, I would’ve smiled and gone back to my 12 machines - the only wealth I owned, bought with ₹1.5 lakhs that I made out of interest. I didn’t have riches. I didn’t even have a salary in the beginning. What I had was hunger. Hunger to make something of myself. And that, along with relentless hard work and blessings from my parents, became the roots of what is today known as Ozone.

Humble Beginnings: A Farmer’s Son

I was born into a humble farming family in Saurashtra, Gujarat. My father, a man of unmatched resilience, tried his hand at everything to support our family - farming, diamond work, a brick kiln, and eventually, a small medical store in Vallabhipur. It was around 1985-86 that he bought Patel Medical Store. Slowly, with dedication, he turned it into a steady business. I was still in school when I started helping him. At 16, I juggled between studies in Bhavnagar and responsibilities at the medical store; traveling by 6:30 AM bus to school, returning by noon, collecting medicines, and learning the ropes of commitment. After completing 12th, I gave three full years to the store, learning everything about running a business firsthand.

The Leap of Faith: Surat

At 21, life offered me a new chapter; an opportunity to move to Surat. I grabbed it with both hands. For six months, I worked under my relatives with dedication and no pay. I stayed at my cousin’s home and learned everything I could. Eventually, with the little money I had, I bought 12 machines and started my own business in Varachha. I knew nothing about profit, weekend offs or vacations, I just knew how to work. There were no shortcuts, only sleepless nights and the will to push forward.

Brick by Brick: Building Ozone

Between 1991 to 1995, I built a foundation. By the grace of God, our work flourished. We reached 100 machines. I bought a home which was not just a physical structure, but a symbol of security and belief. In 1995-96, my brother Kirit joined me. A couple of years later, Haresh came onboard. The three of us gave everything we had to this business. From sunrise to midnight, from festivals to quiet dinners on the factory floor, we were building Ozone, not just a company, but a dream stitched together with sweat, sacrifice, and siblinghood.

Beyond Machines: Expansion, Vision and New Beginnings

In 2010, we opened our office in Citylight and diversified into buying plots, building houses, and selling properties. Every decision was a leap, and every leap was backed by years of trust and hard work. We never let comfort make us complacent. We kept moving forward, knowing we were not just earning, we were creating a legacy.

The Next Generation: Dreams Taking Flight

Today, as my son Miraj and my nephew Viraj join the business, I feel a sense of peace. Watching them learn, lead, and take this company to new heights is my reward. I want my brothers to now relax, to live the life they’ve earned, and to smile knowing that Ozone is in good hands.

A Note from the Heart

Everything I built, I built on my own; with my own hands, efforts, and conviction. Even when times were tough, I relied on my own strength. That feeling of building everything from scratch, of giving more than I received; that is my biggest life achievement.
